National Museum, Singapore Experience...

Visited National Museum in Singapore a week ago...

Free galleries at the basement mainly have Photo collection w.r.t topic chosen. In our case, it was "We: Defining the stories" and "Genesis".

Then after paid galleries at Level 2 with separate sections for Food, Fashion, Photography, Cinema & Singapore History. All of them are good for one time view, notably Singapore history gallery.

However, it's not as great as other museums seen in India like Salar jung museum in Hyderabad and Vishweswaraya Musuem in Bangalore. The historical collection is mainly some cups, ceramic plates etc.

Night Safari Singapore Visit...

Visited Night Safari in Singapore along with family and friends yesterday on 19th May 2014.

The cost for Adult is SGD 39 and Child is SGD 25.

Reached the venue at 19:40hrs and waited in the queue for 20mins before getting into a tram ride.
Tram Ride shows some animals while moving and stops at a tram station where we can alight & walk into to explore animals (Leopard Trail, Flying Squrrels, Bats etc).

Came back to Tram station after 40mins and got into Tram for final ride. It was full moon day and cloudy weather so it was nice experience to look at animals in the light; seen Tigers, Lions, Elephants, Giraffes & Rhino etc.

Finally, reached back to the 1st point at 21:45hrs. Finished entire trip in 2.5hrs. If you still have patience, you can still walk around in that place to explore on your own till 23:30hrs.

Here are the pitfalls...

1. Not so many great animals
2. Due to night, most of animals are not visible or sleeping/invisible
3. Felt not worth the price tag

Experience summary

If you have not been to any other Zoo so far, then this will be a good experience for you. Rather, I would recommend to visit any Zoo in the morning hours rather than in night to have good memories. Else, it's not worth to spend money and time in my opinion.

Phuket Trip Experience

I went to Phuket with my family along with my younger kids.

We have stayed in Karon Sea sands resort (Karon beach) and would like to share my experience with some suggestions. If you are vegetarian and need Indian food, then this is one of the good options where it is having Navrang mahal Indian restaurant.

1. Book Island hopping or any other activity online (I have used "phuketadventure.com") which is good and reasonable. This saves precious time avoiding planning over there. At the hotel, there are hell lot of packages but pretty expensive and confusing.

We went through Cruise which is slow compared to Speed boat option (took 2hrs to go to Phi Phi Island in contrast to 1hr by Speedboat). If you are interested to cover more places in a single day, then I would recommend Speed boat option if you are not going with younger kids.

2. Maya bay sands is really a nice view and food at Phi Phi hotel (final destination) is tastier (I am a vegeterian :)) so not sure about Non-Veg food.

3. Done Parasailing at the beach which costed THB 1300 which was nice experience.

4. Next day, visited Tiger Kingdom (good for Kids/Adults) & Big Buddha still in construction but very big as it name says :)

Overall, stayed for 2 full days in Phuket and thought another extra day stay would have been decent to just relax at the beach.
